• 3 C W/Meal flour (pref organic)
  • Butter 50 g (2 oz)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder (pref organic)
  • 1/4 C brown sugar
  • 1 C dried fruit (pref organic)
  • 1/2 C chopped raw walnuts
  • 1 egg
  • 1 C whole milk (not homogenised)


Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Rub in butter, sugar then fruit. Make into a soft dough with beaten egg and milk. Put into greased loaf tin. Bake 3/4 to 1 hr at 200 degrees C.
