Hi team, my name is Rachel Tomkinson and I am the Owner and Director of Better Bods, Better Health; “Band Fit”. My staff and I are here to help you all in achieving a “Better Bod”, physically as well as mentally. I believe our system of resistance training, is a great unique, safe and fun way in achieving long term BODY FAT loss.
I myself have been involved in the fitness industry for over 17 years. I am a Qualified Nurse, Personal Trainer, Massage Therapist & Boxercise Instructor. I worked full time in London as a Personal Trainer in a prestigious health club, David Lloyds Kensington, for over a year before returning to New Zealand (Jan 2001) and setting up my own business. I am a wife and mother of 2, three year old, Renee and wee baby Jenna.

I believe “quality” training is essential for our long-term health and well –being. I am very passionate in helping others to achieve this with education as well as motivation, throughout Band Fit and my Health and Fitness Seminars nationwide. Remember team;

Kia ora koutou, my name is Lee.  I am a previous gym owner/operator and franchise manager for Les Mills.  Specializing in group fitness classes, I have over 24 years experience in the fitness industry as a Les Mills qualified fitness instructor and group fitness manager and am currently completing studies for a Fitness Management Certificate with Otago University.   
Over the years I have worked extensively in all areas of our community from rest homes to kindergartens, schools to workplaces and have loved every minute of it.  I have lived in Timaru all my life and have three adult sons who all grew up on the floor of an aerobics studio!  After major illness, I know first hand that regular exercise provides us with the strength to fight adversity both mentally and physically and builds confidence and belief in ourselves.  Fitness is not so much about how we look but how we function every day of our lives.  One life, one chance to get it right.  I look forward to sharing my knowledge and passion with you, so you too can reap the rewards and become a "Better Bod".

Hi, my name is Darren Mackay. I have been involved with the health and fitness industry for a number of years qualifying as a Personal Trainer in 1999 at the Australian Institute of Fitness in Perth. I am currently cycling competitively with the Timaru Cycling Club. Also competed in Triathlons, the Kephler Challenge Mountain Run, Geraldine Mountathlon and Representative Rugby. I enjoy being active and leading a healthy lifestyle and the self-fulfilment that it brings. I am looking forward to working with you to achieve your own personal health and fitness goals.

Hi all! I started my career in the fitness industry in 1999 working at Les Mills in Christchurch before working as a kayak instructor in Pennsylvania U.S.A. while on my OE. Since returning home I have been working at Performance Training Co. as a Les Mills class instructor and more recently as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. I love the outdoors; rockclimbing, kayaking and tramping. I am totally committed to achieving good health through exercise and to helping you achieve the same.

Hi my name is Lynda. I live at Rangitata Island with my husband and our 4 children. I began training as an aerobic instructor at City Fit Gym, Timaru in the mid 1990`s. Over the years I have enjoyed taking classes in Timaru, Ashburton, Rangitata Island and Geraldine, meeting some really neat people along the way. Maintaining balance in my life is my goal for 2005. Scheduling in my fitness training is important for me to help maintain energy to get through the day. Caring for my family along with the demands of running a monogramming business and an accommodation cottage from home keeps me on my toes.
Time Out” for me is being in the garden with the sun on my back and dirt up my fingernails. I am looking forward to meeting you.

Shelley Crichton - Instructor - Christchurch
Hi, my name is Shelley.  I am a REPs qualified Spin instructor and have been teaching Spin for nearly four years.  My interests include road riding, mountain biking and off road running.  I have recently competed in my first ever multi-sport event and found it a real challenge!!  I have 3 children aged 5 and under so life is one big juggling act.  I think BAND FIT is a fantastic programme and plan to make it a fun a rewarding class for you.

Stephanie Payne - Instructor
Hi, my name is Stephanie. I am married to Dale and mother to Ben and Reilly. My introduction to the fitness industry was attending my first Band Fit Blast at Cave in March 2006. I got hooked after that and here I am, a Band Fit Instructor. I am a self- confessed horse nut and spent 13 years as a jockey. I also spend the winters running with the Timaru Harrier Club. I am looking forward to working with the team at Better Bods!

Dee Ward - Instructor
Hello there – My name is Dee Ward and I have just joined the Better Bods Team as an instructor. I am a wife and mother of two teenage children and enjoy being with my friends and family, playing golf and walking our dogs Winne and Pooh.
I am a qualified diversional therapist. Also, together with my colleague Jude Hay we are developing offering quality programmes for the elderly.
Fitness and keeping active is soooo important throughout one`s life and its never too late to start with a well designed programme. I want to share my passion for enjoying fitness.
Holistic well being and self esteem starts with a Better Bod campaign!
